Cretan Land honey

Cretan Land honey

According to myth, Mellisa (meaning “bee” in Greek), was one of the two women that were assigned to protect and nurture baby Zeus. Mellisa took Zeus of special care,  feeding him honey in order to grow faster and take his place among the Greek gods.

Greece has more bee hives “per acre” than any other country in Europe; scientists and botanists consider Greece to be the country with the richest flora in the Mediterranean basin.
